Sailing
Our Weekly accessible sailing sessions are starting on Thursday 9th May and will run until end Sept.
Location Rinville, Oranmore 6:30-8:30.
This year, there will also be a "Docks Accessible Sailing Programme".
There will be 6 event weekends: five in the docks in Galway and one in Dunlaoghaire.
Location: Galway Docks. Times not confirmed yet but provisionally 12-5pm for us.
- May Bank Holiday Weekend, Sun 5th & Mon 6th May 2013: ISA Sailspree -Come n Try Sailing Days. This will be the official start of our season and the launch of the Galway Docks Accessible Sailing Programme.
- June Bank Holiday Weekend, Sat 1st to Mon 3rd June 2013: Galway Seafest Weekend 2 of Galway Dock Sailing Programme. Come n Try and Skills Sailing days
- Sunday 7th July: Weekend 3 Galway Docks Accessible Sailing Programme
- Sat 27th /Sun 28th July: Access Nationals Royal St George Yacht Club, Dunlaoghaire (competition that was held in Lough Derg last year). Please note that date may change.
- Sunday 4th August: Weekend 4 Galway Docks Accessible Sailing Programme
- Sunday 1st September: Weekend 5 Galway Docks Accessible Sailing Programme
- Sunday 29th September: Weekend 6 Galway Docks Accessible Sailing Programme
Please also note that the IFDS World Disabled Sailing Championships will be held in Kinsale Yacht Club from the 22nd to the 30th of August.
In 2012, Mark competed in the first ever National Access Regatta in Lough Derg on 25th & 26th August and was awarded the Star Sailor trophy in recognition of his performance through the weekend.
